Veterinarian, Dog Trainer and Rehabilitation Therapist
I began my career as a small animal veterinarian in general practice. I noticed a group of patients right away that were lacking treatment. Those animals were struggling, with physical ailments and behavioral problems. No matter what I tried, I did not seem equipped to help them. I sought help from other veterinary professionals but very few solutions came. My desire to improve these animals' lives led me to pursue further education. I attended many classes to expand my skills, learning everything I could about rehabilitation therapy, behavior modification, and animal training. I also learned that behavior concerns and pain are closely linked. I am now able to use this expert knowledge to help your pet to feel and behave better.
As a veterinarian, I look to science for answers. I use force-free training methods that have undergone research. These methods are safe, fun and easy to learn. I want my clients and their pets to enjoy the behavior modification process. I try to keep things simple giving my clients only what they need. After all, we lead busy lives and don't have time for a lot of extras! I stay up to date on research by reading and attending conferences. If you want to learn more visit the resources page for a list of my favorite books, conferences, articles and websites.
I share my home with my husband, our 4 dogs and 5 cats. They definitely keep us on our toes, but they also bring so much joy to our lives. In my free time I enjoy hiking, boating, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.
