Did your pet recently have surgery? Is your pet aging and not quite as active as they used to be? Is your pet overweight and needs help getting fit? Is your pet an athlete that needs a conditioning program to remain competitive?
Injuries, arthritis and weight loss require dedication and a daily commitment to exercise for your pet to recover completely. Maintaining a canine athlete can feel like a full time job. With my help we can streamline your home exercise program to make the most efficient use of your limited time.
I can help!
What is rehabilitation therapy?
Rehabilitation therapy is like physical therapy for people. It is how we help your pet recovery after major surgery or live with painful conditions like arthritis.
What happens during a rehabilitation session?
During this 90 minutes visit Dr. Rockwell will get a complete history, perform a thorough gait analysis and a complete examination of your pet's bones, muscles, tendons and joints. Then we will discuss your pet's condition. She may perform laser therapy, massage, manual therapy or electrical stimulation during this appointment. She will also discuss your pet's prognosis for improvement, create a home exercise program and demonstrate each of the exercises for you. She may discuss medications or supplements that could help in the recovery process or assistive devices to help improve your pet's quality of life.
